Maryville Police  Collision Avoidance Driving Skills For Life ...  Every member of the Maryville Police Department shares several common responsibilities. Preservation of law and order within our city but our first responsibility is the preservation of life. We take great pride in the quality of life we all enjoy in Maryville and great efforts to ensure that quality of life. Automobile crashes are the leading cause of death and injury to teens in the State of Tennessee and unfortunately it is the leading cause of death and injury to our teens. We are pleased to announce a new aggressive and proactive initiative to reduce the number of teenage crashes within our community. The “Collision Avoidance Training “program has proven extremely effective in other communities and will be the centerpiece of our initiative. The leading cause of teenage crashes is due to inexperience and this training program does an exceptional job providing teens with life saving skills they will use all their life. As parents we spend hundreds of dollars every year on ballet lessons, soccer and football camps but little or nothing on some of the most important lessons in your child's life. . . Learning to drive. Local Contact: Sgt. Jason Barham Email- Jcbarham@ci.maryville.tn.us
